IICL Guide for Container Equipment Inpsection

The Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) has revised its inspection criteria and processes for dry van containers, known as "IICL 6", which was implemented on a worldwide basis on 1 August 2016.

IICL 6 is the result of work by the IICL Technical Committee (TC) to update and harmonize several inspection criteria and processes that had developed over recent years. Benefits of the IICL 6 standard include the simplification and efficiency improvement of procedures for container inspections performed at container depots around the world.

Containers are loaded with cargo at the point of origin and then used 'one way' to the delivery location. Upon arrival containers are emptied and then returned according to the delivery instructions.
